3rd, 4th, 5th grade NDSA

*3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade*

From March 30 to May 15, your 3rd, 4th and/or 5th grade child(ren) will be taking the North Dakota State Assessment. The North Dakota State Assessment (NDSA) is given every school year as required by federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. Students are assessed on state grade level standards in Mathematics, Reading, and English Language Arts. One big change you will see this year is that the students will be assessed on a computerized testing system.

The most important thing you can do for your child(ren) during testing is to make sure that he/she comes to school on the days they have tests. Please avoid scheduling appointments as much as possible during this testing period. Your child(ren) will bring home their personal testing schedule prior to testing.

In addition to attendance, your child(ren) will do his/her best if they;

  • Come to school on time.
  • Are well rested on the day of the test.
  • Have a good breakfast before they come to school.
  • You can also provide a healthy snack such as; crackers, string cheese, granola bars, etc. Please avoid sticky or messy food as the test is taken on a computer.
